BCMS Counseling Department
Vision Statement
The students of Briggs Chaney Middle School (BCMS) are empathetic and life-long learners who will go on to pursue postsecondary options in education and career readiness. As culturally responsive 21st century critical thinkers, they are equipped to problem-solve, collaborate and advocate for themselves and communities. They promote equity, mindfulness and rigor to achieve academic and social/emotional growth. As dynamic learners with grit and dedication, our students are prepared to leave a positive impact in their communities.
The mission of the Briggs Chaney Middle School Counseling Department is to cultivate an environment that promotes college, career and life readiness in all students. In alignment with the school improvement plan of Briggs Chaney Middle School we implement a comprehensive program that promotes equity, rigor and relationships. In collaboration with community stakeholders, parents and guardians, and educators, school counselors model and support an environment that promotes culturally competent and compassionate students. We are dedicated to providing access to all students to excel in their learning and become dynamic and resilient leaders of the 21st century.
